Abhyangam – Increases blood flow and reduces pain.

Abhyangam therapy is a full body Ayurvedic massage. Always done with natural / herbal oils by two trained therapists or with the use of both hands. Abhyangam is a synchronized massage involving rhythmic strokes and perfect application of pressure. This rhythmic motion full massage gives relief in joint and muscle pain and stiffness and helps in freeing body movements. Abhyangam is a refreshing, relaxing and rejuvenating therapy of Ayuveda.

 

Patrapinda Sweda – Good therapy for joint & muscle pain.

Patra Pinda Sweda is also known as, “Ela Kizhi” and is a form of sweat inducing therapies (fomentation, sudation, steaming). Dr. Madhavi Borkar explains that in Patra Pinda Sweda therapy they use herbal medicines and leaves of medicinal plants from nature for external treatments. In this procedure she mentions that, heated or oil fried leaves of certain special medicinal plants are tied in a BOLUS to provide direct heat to pain affected areas of the body. This therapy is beneficial in healing chronic pains, strengthening & rejuvenating joints, muscles and soft tissues.

 

Viddhagni – Indian Ayurvedic Acupuncture, gives instant pain relief.

Viddha is a Sanskrit word and it means, “TO PIERCE” or “TO PENETRATE” into something. Agni means Fire. Viddhaagni is the ancient Ayurvedic technique of using stainless steel surgical disposable needles combined along with heat element. Viddhaagni is a form of Indian Ayurvedic Acupuncture where a small and controlled electric current is passed through the needles to generate heat to the designated pain area. Through this electric stimulation, heat is generated and delivered along with the precision piercing of needles to reduce pain

 

Greeva Basti – Gives good results in reducing neck pain.

The two-word phrase of Greeva Basti is of ancient Sanskrit origins. The word Greeva is in reference to neck and Basti stands for holding medicated oil in a container or controlled area on the body. Greeva Basti is an ancient Ayurvedic medicated hot oil therapy specially for the neck area. Dr. Madhavi Borkar explains that in this therapy, the neck region is bathed and immersed with medicated oil or freshly prepared herbal decoction. The process does both oleation and sudation around the neck area at the same time.

 

Shirodhara – For treating Sleeplessness, High blood pressure. Relieves mental stress & tension.

Shirodhara is an Ayurveda therapy that includes the gentle pouring of medicated Oil or Herbal liquids over the third eye area of the forehead. The name comes from the Sanskrit words Shiro (head) and Dhara (flow). Shirodhara has a deep effect on the human nervous system. The treatment immediately & instantly has a Cooling, Calming and Cleansing effect on the mind and nerves.

 

Udvartanam – Reduces fat & increases blood flow.

The word, “Udvartanam” literally means to, ‘elevate or promote’. It is also connected to the upward stroke that is used during this particular medicinal massage therapy. In Udvartana the whole body, excluding & avoiding face and neck, is massaged with powders (or paste) of herbs (dry massage) in upward direction. Ayurvedic Udvartanam is a fat burning full body massage for beneficial mainly for Weight Loss.

 

Bashpa Sweda – Relieves body pain & Reduces Fat.

In this Bashpa Sweda therapy, the whole body of the patient is given a medicated steam bath by making the patient normally sit inside a wooden steam chamber until there is profuse and intense sweating. This method is beneficial in detoxifying the body and reducing excess weight & fats. Bashpa Sweda also helps in loosening the joints and inducing feelings of lightness and delightful freshness.

 

Kati Basti – For Back pain and Sciatica

Kati Basti is a traditional Ayurvedic treatment commonly treated for lower backache and disorders of lumbosacral region, including slip disc, lumbar spondylosis, sciatica, spinal problems etc. Kati Basti is a part of external oleation (Snehana) therapy in Ayurveda. Beneficial in General Backache, Backache in women, Sciatica, Intervertebral disc protrusion, Lumbar spondylosis, Lumbar spondylitis (Inflammation of lumber joints characterized by stiffness, tenderness and pain), Slip disc and Degenerative disc disease.

 

Jaanu Basti – For nourishing Knee Joints & Relieving Pain & Swelling.

In Ayurveda the knee joint is called as Janu Sandhi in Sanskrit; hence the name Janu Basti is given to the therapy done on knee joints. In this the knee joint is immersed and covered fully with hot or lukewarm medicated oil or freshly prepared herbal medicines. Jaanu Basti therapy can be done singularly on one knee or simultaneously on both knees at the same time.  

 

Nasya – Good Results in Migraine, Headache, Allergic Rhinitis, Sinusitis.

The Nasya treatment refers to an Ayurvedic cure that comprises insertion of herbal oils, juices or powders through the nasal route or nose. It works specially on illnesses of ear, nose and throat. Nasya therapy is particularly required for ailments of parts above the base of the neck; nasal passage being the doorway of the head.
