Bachelors of Science in Marine Engineering (BS MARE)
The Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering is also called as BS MARE in short and is a 4 year degree program that concentrates on the construction, operation, and maintenance of different kinds of marine vessels such as cargo ships, cruise ships, fishing boats, battleships and submarines. This program of BS MARE aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills that will enable them to operate and maintain the different machineries installed in marine vessels, including the propulsion plant, adjunct and auxiliary machinery, electrical and refrigeration systems.
Marine Engineering is a very reputed profession with worldwide demand. A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering needs to pass the Licensure Examinations for Officer-in-Charge of an Engineering Watch, Second Engineer or Chief Engineer before practicing as a marine engineer. In general, a Marine Engineers job includes the maintenance, operation and installation of different machineries and systems in the vessel, as well as the development and construction of marine vessels.

The Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering is taught through classroom-based frontal instructions as well as hands-on trainings usually conducted in special laboratories and a one year apprenticeship aboard a ship.

Fill in all the Data Entry Form called for, issued by the UC Registrar’s office.
Return (4) copies of this form to the University of Cebu-Registrar’s office, Foreign Students Sections, Cebu City, Philippines, Zip Code 6000 together with the following:
Three (3) Official copies of the Transcript of School Records (Official Copies bear the original signature and the embossed / stamped seal of the Issuing Educational Institution.)
Five (5) copies of the personal history statement properly accomplished.
Five (5) copies of Affidavit of Financial Support, duly notarized, executed of your Financial Sponsor.
Application Fee of $40.00 or has its equivalent to cover the processing and mailing charges.
Admission Fee of Php 1,500.00 for each new Foreign Students, and
Service Fee of Php 1,000.00 every Semester excluding summer.

The Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation in short referred to as (BSMT) is a four-year undergraduate degree program which leads to a certified career in the professional maritime industry, as a Marine Deck Officer.
